The perfect combination of dunes and adventure, this 4-day trip starting in Windhoek and overnighting in Swakopmund to allow you time to enjoy the many adventure “adrenalin” activities available in the adventure capital of Namibia. Leaving for the Namib the following morning this gives you plenty of time to experience the rolling sand dunes and salt pans of the oldest, driest desert in the world.

Day By Day Itnerary
The fire is the main comfort of the camp, whether in summer or winter.
Day 1: Windhoek to Swakopmund
Pick up this morning is from 7h15 and you will be brought to the office for a quick pre-departure talk. Departure from Windhoek is at 08h00 and you drive

Day 2: Swakopmund to Sesriem, crossing the Tropic, two passes, and Solitaire
This morning after breakfast you can join an optional activity such as the sand boarding which takes you into the coastal dune fields.
. You will be picked up from your guesthouse/hotel in Swakopmund at 11:15, (wintertime 10h15) for a brief pre-departure talk. Afterwards you depart, you travel via Kuiseb Pass and Gaub Pass to continue on to Solitaire and your camp. You arrive at your camp late afternoon and have a chance to relax and enjoy the views before taking a short walk for sunset overlooking the Naukluft Mountain range. Overnight is based in twin rooms with en-suite bathroom facilities. Dinner prepared by your guide.

Day 3: Dunes, Vleis and a Canyon
You depart at dawn from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise. You drive down an ancient river bed surrounded by towering dunes to the 2x4 parking (around 55kms) and take a 4x4 shuttle into the Sossusvlei region.
You explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours. As you drive back to your accommodation you will stop at the famous Dune 45 and climb this dune if you wish or just wander around the base. You return to Sesriem and visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the few permanent water sources before arriving back at our camp late afternoon to watch the sunset over this spectacular desert. Overnight in twin share rooms or permanent tents with en-suite bathrooms. Dinner prepared by your guide.

Day 4: Cheetah tracking and return to Windhoek
After an early breakfast you travel to Solitaire Guest Farm where you join a biologist to track wild cheetah at the N/a'ankuse Namib Conservation Centre.
You return to Windhoek via Bull sport and Rehoboth arriving mid-afternoon where you will be dropped at your accommodation. For those that choose to fly today, No flights departing prior to 17H00 in case there are unexpected delays returning from safari.
