The Big Five was traditionally used as a hunting term to describe the five most dangerous animals in Africa to hunt. Their reputation has spilled over into the tourism industry and now elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino remain the most sought after species to see on the continent. But they're not really the most dangerous animals in Africa. In fact, the two species that kill the most people are not even part of the Big Five; they are the tiny mosquito and the lazy hippo. Out of the Big Five, the black rhino is the hardest to find by far, with the leopard coming in at second place.
Africa – You can see a sunset and believe you have witnessed the Hand of God. You watch the slope lope of a lioness and forget to breathe. You marvel at the tripod of a giraffe bent to water. In Africa, there are iridescent blues on the wings of birds that you do not see anywhere else in nature. In Africa, in the midday heart, you can see blisters in the atmosphere. When you are in Africa, you feel primordial, rocked in the cradle of the world.
Safari Highlights
We begin by venturing deep into the heart of the Serengeti savanna, where we spend two nights exploring far off the beaten path. The Serengeti is one of the world’s best known wildlife reserves due to its high volume of animals and its being home to one of the best known lions to ever have been conjured: Simba, from the “The Lion King.” The warm afternoon smells of dry grass and soft earth. Traverse the grounds with your well-informed guide, who will point out the varieties of wildlife that linger in the bush. Keep your eyes open for that herd of elephants wandering along the horizon. Their large, gray forms loom large on the horizon and larger still when close to the vehicle. Their tusks droop and point, reflecting the sunlight with a slight sparkle. Stray leaves sometimes dangle from their tusks as if the elephant is saving some foliage for later. They stand tall in the cooling sky as the sun fades over the horizon. Day By Day Itnerary

DAY 1: Arusha city | Serengeti national park via Naabi gate
After having your early breakfast depart at 7.30am and drive direct to the World famous Serengeti National park through the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

DAY 2: Serengeti National Park | Full Day Game viewing.
After breakfast collect your packed lunch and depart for full day game viewing in the Serengeti; you may also opt to go for early morning game viewing and drive back to the lodge/ camp for breakfast and later proceed with game viewing.

DAY 3: Serengeti National Park | Ngorongoro Highland.
After breakfast, enjoy game viewing while heading to Naabi gate where you will check out and proceed to Ngorongoro Highland through the savannah plains. Explore the breeding ground for the Great Migration.
Depart the cool, grassy Serengeti National park and later arrive on through the endless plains, where large herds of wildebeest and zebra are found between December to March. Follow the great migration! It has been recorded that in the first 2 weeks of February more than 200,000 calves of wildebeest are born in the plains. This is the calving period. The Serengeti/ Ngorongoro ecosystem has become a household name largely due to film depictions of its migration. Our professional guide is always happy to share with you lots of hidden secrets in the Serengeti, why Serengeti shall never die, how the endless plain was formed and its roles in the great migration. Get to know why the park was named "Serengeti" instead of its original name 'Siringet" and much much more..! This day you have an option of visiting either Masai village or the Olduvai Gorge (some believe to be the cradle of mankind). Olduvai Gorge is the place where Dr. Louis Leakey and his wife Mary excavated remaining of Zinjanthropus and other ancient hominoid fossils.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater | Drive to Arusha.
Soon after early breakfast drive to the crater via the endless plains of the Serengeti. Enjoy your packed lunch as you descend down the Ngorongoro crater.
The Ngorongoro crater, which has been declared a world heritage site, lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area that covers more than 8000 sq.km with an area of 304 sq. km. the crater is the home of up to 30,000 large mammals. More than 100 species of birds not found in the Serengeti have been recorded here. This is the world's largest unbroken caldera and the 8th wonder of the world. Our friendly safari guide is always happy to share with you about the behind the scene perspectives about the formation of the caldera, ecological facts and much more..! This is the only place in Africa where it is easy to find big cats like lions (5 prides of lions have been recorded), cheetah, clans of the hyena, jackals, serval cats a few to mention. Search out for rarely seen black rhino Afternoon start descending the crater and drive towards the exit gate while enjoying en-route game viewing through Ngorongoro highland colored by the green forest.
